What does it do?

It's a bookmark script (bookmarklet) that loads Mobile Sidecar℠ over the page you're browsing. On the iPad it provides touch friendly search and discovery access to a variety of information. Mobile Sidecar℠ accesses elements of the page that you're browsing to give you options for sharing, viewing popular shares by others and the ability to crawl the website in the background with our Mobile Site Search (patent pending).

What do I do after it loads?

You can save to Evernote, Instapaper, use Blogger and share among your friends. Use the page to seed searches to interesting stuff based on what you're reading. Instantly find related sites, relevant search results and easily drill down into the site using Facebook shares or our mobile site search engine.

What is Mobile Site Search℠?

The app uses the power of your hardware to crawl websites and provide real-time links on your screen. It crawls page information, empowering you to search websites in a familiar and predictable way. Our algorithms are constantly evolving and it gets better for you the more you use it. The only time you'll encounter spam is if you look at spam in the first place, or use it to Google where you may encounter spam.

Why doesn't it always work?

You should always get access to Related Websites, Evernote, Instapaer, Facebook, Twitter and Blogger. When used from the desktop you have access to Google+. We built it to respect the Robots Exclusion Protocol. Sometimes a website has ads, robots protocol or framework that interferes with Mobile Sidecar. We've elected to duplicate navigation in reverse order along the bottom for your convenience.

What does the Social Media tab do?

Share with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and use the Hootsuite Social Media dashboard. Some features are accessible throughout Mobile Sidecar and the social media tab contains more detailed functionality with each service. The Facebook plugin may contain additional activity from your connected Facebook friends. This is often a highly interesting list of links shared by people you should know. Instantly see anything your Facebook friends shared from the site you're browsing.

What does the Web Search tab do?

Mobile Sidecar automatically configures searches at Google, Twitter and more. You will find words from the page that you're viewing configured to these search services at each page you launch the sidecar on. Build a personal search by clicking engine from [Search Engine] from the text [Search Engine Land] your query would be: "Search Engine" and load Google.

Featured, Seasonal, Dashboard?

We feature pages with rotating information based upon a site or service that we want to promote. We also feature information that is pertinent to the season. We accept suggestions for these tabs, and may include commercial sites as we deem appropriate. Dashboard is a quick look at some of our content analysis engine at work.
