We made the sidecar for iPad, where typing can be tricky or frustrating. Imagine tapping the power of the Web navigating with your iPad without needing the popup software keyboard. The sidecar loads search based on the text of the page you're viewing.

The sidecar loads Javascript into your browser becoming part of the experience, presenting itself as a toolbar overlay. Find Facebook and more. The same bookmark launch script works on Google Chrome, Apple Safari or Opera 11 across mobile and desktop.

Web apps in iOS have 'Open in Safari' (everything from Flipboard to Hootsuite). Why copy-and-paste addresses between apps to share? With 'Open in Safari' and the sidecar, you get search, sharing and analysis.

Tip: iPad Settings and Safari: 'Always Show Bookmarks Bar.' If you saved the sidecar bookmarklet in your Bookmarks Bar folder, launch sidecar straight from Mobile Safari.
